RESEDENTIAL

Residential Solutions

Property crimes and the crimes that impact residential communities and associations have been on the increase. Alcon’s video surveillance has been extremely effective in improving the safety and security of these neighborhoods and residents. Video Surveillance Systems in particular, are very effective as deterrence to crime and provide visual evidence to law enforcement agencies. Experts agree that properties, developments and communities are far more likely to have incidents of criminal activity in areas without video surveillance cameras. The facts are that people are less likely to commit a crime if they know they are being watched or recorded.

Community / Property Related Security:

Residents and Guests Safety - When Video Surveillance Description: http://www.alconlink.com/upload/residential.jpgCameras are properly used in a community, they have been  proven to effective in creating a layer of security, that  acts as a deterrence to those who might otherwise  commit a crime in that area. While there are no  absolute guarantees of prevention, the awareness of  the use of cameras has been well documented to  reducing these crimes.

Vehicle and Pedestrian Traffic – Video surveillance cameras designated to monitor and record vehicles and pedestrian traffic have provided additional layer of security by monitoring who enters and or leaves a community. Vehicle tag capture cameras are now available and have the ability to record tag numbers, regardless of the light conditions. These tag numbers can be recorded and analyzed in a searchable database as to aid management and/or law enforcement in identifying specific vehicles. Whether you are looking for a suspect in a property crime of for the vehicle that damaged the gate, entrance and exit cameras can provide valuable information.

Vandalism - Residential communities have long faced challenges with vandalism. Sometimes this vandalism is to the common areas of the community and other times it directly impacts the individual properties themselves. Vandalism can stem from teens and younger residents within the community or from other communities nearby. Communities, who publicize the use of live monitored and recorded video surveillance cameras, can obviously discourage vandalism. Should vandalism occur, having high quality, recorded visual evidence can be a big benefit to management and law enforcement in identifying the individual or individuals who were responsible.

Common Area – Community Property – Most communities have common areas including playgrounds, swimming pools, recreational centers, exercise areas and/or club houses that are in essence, property owned by all of the residents. The use of this property is exclusively for its residents and guest yet many communities have issues keeping or preventing access by outsiders and non-residents. Because these areas are for the most part, unattended, they are prone to suffer damage from vandalism or misuse and theft. Technology in access control and integrated video surveillance has proven successful in preventing these issues with common areas and amenities.

Parking Garages and Parking Lots - Video Surveillance Cameras are widely used in areas where vehicles are parked. Utilizing some of the newer high resolution pan, tilt and zoom cameras or the latest in megapixel camera technology, parking areas can now be covered more efficiently with fewer cameras than were required in the past.

Application

Place cameras at entrance and exit gates to capture a clear picture of each vehicle whether it is a homeowner, guest, visitor, employee, vendor or service provider.

Use cameras in the community park area, pool and community center to monitor unauthorized or afterhour’s activity. Monitor these areas for liability purposes involving issues arising from accidents and slip and falls.
